 About Gallery
The owners of the gallery are: Maria Dziopak - a
painter, Mariusz Dziopak - an economist, and
Elżbieta Sawczuk - a speech doctor. The SD was
founded in 1993. The SD Galeria has three lodgings
- the Mokotów Galeria, in the Panorama
Shopping Mall and the Wilanów.
From the SD's very modest beginnings, that is the
exhibition presenting the works of Maria's friends
having participated in a plein-air workshop, It
has become one of the major galleries displaying
art of the most outstanding contemporary painters
and sculptors. The SD Galeria concentrates mostly
on the presention of figurative arts. Epic,
symbolic and fairy tale inspired works prevail
there. apart from classic subjects raised most
usually by artists - landscapes, stills, genre
pieces, works of some experimenting artists
seeking new stylistic solutions can also be found
in the SD. And thus, hand in hand with such names
as Beksiński, Bereźnicki, Duda Gracz, the gallery
presents also works of young painters who are
still creating their artistic image. In the SD
Galeria one can also find works of artists met by
Maria Dziopak during her Polish and international
plain-air sessions.
The SD Galeria takes part in polish and
international art fairs, and as the first polish
gallery it participated in the International
Art Fair of ARTEXPO in New York in 2001 and
2002. Since the beginning of its activity the
gallery features in many charity events.
Over the past ten years we have succeeded in
attracting and retaining quite a number of fans,
art collectors and we are especially pleased to
host young people in our spaces.
